• Event content: event names, details, photos and media uploaded by you or your guests.
• Transactional data: records of purchases (via our payment processor).
• Usage data: device/browser info, IP address, and product interaction (for security and analytics).
• Cookies: to keep you signed in and improve the product experience.

How we use your information

• Provide and improve SnapTheKnot, including customer support.
• Process payments and prevent fraud.
• Secure our services and enforce our terms.
• Send service communications (e.g., receipts, important updates).
• With your consent, send product news or tips. You can opt out anytime.

How we do not use your photos

• We do not sell uploaded photos, videos, or gallery content.
• We do not use uploaded photos or videos in ads, public marketing, social posts, or case studies without explicit permission.
• We do not use uploaded photos or videos to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Gallery privacy and search engines

SnapTheKnot galleries are designed for private wedding sharing, not public social discovery. Guest upload pages, shared gallery pages, and live photo wall pages are sent with robots noindex headers so search engines are instructed not to list them. Shared gallery links use unguessable tokens and can be disabled by the gallery owner.

Owner controls

• Gallery owners can delete uploads from their gallery.
• Gallery owners can enable or disable read-only shared gallery links.
• Disabling a shared gallery revokes the previous shared link.
• Guests do not need to create accounts to upload through the guest upload page.

Sharing

We share data with service providers that help us operate (e.g., hosting, storage, analytics, email, and payments). These providers are bound to protect your data and use it only for our instructions. We may also share data to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or in a merger/acquisition.

Data retention

Paid galleries include 12 months of hosting. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with our legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. You can request deletion of your account and content; we will honor it unless we must retain certain data for legal or security reasons.

Your choices

• Access, update, or delete your data by contacting support or using in‑product settings.
• Control cookies via your browser settings; essential cookies are required for core features.
• Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link.

Children

SnapTheKnot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect account data from children under 13. Weddings may include minors in photos or videos uploaded by adults or guests. Gallery owners are responsible for getting appropriate consent from guests and families before collecting, sharing, or downloading photos that include minors.

International transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. We take steps to protect your data consistent with this policy wherever it is processed.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashed account passwords, HTTPS in production, access controls for owner areas, time-limited direct upload links, and cloud storage controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the product or email. Your continued use of SnapTheKnot after changes indicates acceptance.
